Caged Animals - The Sound of Thunder

We're thrilled to present to you the video for Caged Animals' forthcoming single"Sound of Thunder," self-directed by Vincent Cacchione with Mike McLean. The single will be released on December 16, ahead of a European Tour in early 2014 (dates listed below).

The video features Cacchione's little sister, and Caged Animals' bass player, Taylaas a 90's style Goth-Girl living in Millennial Suburbia.  One Summer afternoon, she decides to sneak out of the house and gets caught up in a series of mysterious and supernatural events that cause her to question her values and ultimately learn a valuable lesson.

"The Sound Of Thunder" is an uplifting pop song that advises against giving in to the un-escapable, the idea that we should savor our lives and not be afraid. Inspired by Vin's friend from Soft Black, (Zachary) Cole Smith, and now lead DIIV-er, and the emotion Cole can create with just a single guitar line.  It was his musical-mojo that inspired the searing guitar melody that follows each chorus.

Caged Animals is Vincent Cacchione, a New Jersey-born Italian living in Brooklyn. Known previously for the nearly noir folk-rock of his former band, Soft Black, Cacchione carries a strong songwriting gene in his Caged Animals brand of glitch-friendly pop.

In The Land Of Giants is a record about family, faith and hope at the same time marrying the sonic experimentation of Cacchione's love for electronic with the undeniable penchant for lyrical and emotional resonance he developed in Soft Black. It was released on September 3 via Lucky Number.
