Story Theme – GREAT ESCAPES
The Moth Mainstage features stories by luminaries in the arts and sciences, newsmakers and news breakers, and everyday heroes (and even a few reformed villains!). The show features five storytellers who develop and shape their stories with The Moth’s directors. Beyond a mere theatrical experience, The Moth is an ever-growing community where entertainment, enlightenment and festivity merge.
Our Host: Brian Finkelstein, comedy writer/performer and an Emmy-nominated writer for his work on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Featured storyteller: Richard Price, novelist and screenwriter. He is co-writer of The Wire, and the author of Clockers, Lush Life, and more. Price was one of the first people interviewed on the NPR show Fresh Air when it began airing nationally.
WDET 101.9 FM is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to Wayne State University, owned and operated since 1952 to serve in the public interest. WDET’s growing audience reaches more than 150,000 listeners every week in southeast Michigan, northwest Ohio and southwest Ontario.
WDET is a community nonprofit institution, actively involved in the life of metro Detroit.
