I previously reviewed the four-track sampler the label sent me, but those four songs were simply a small representation of a much larger and well done project.  That review, which addressed "Personal Jesus," "Father Sun," "Knockdown Dragout," and "Bad On Fords And Chevroltets," (HERE) didn't cover all the other great tracks on this disc, like opener "Winding Down" (with Taj Mahal) that feature a different sound than most redheads are expecting, but is very representative of Sammy's diversity and talent.  The slide guitar and blues feel is an excellent way to kick this project off.  It sits in contrast with the relaxing feel of "All We Need Is An Island" (with Nancy Wilson & Mickey Hart).  The sounds and textures on this track are new to Sammy's catalog, but a welcome addition.

"Not Going Down" (with Bill Church & Denny Carmassi) has a cool classic rock vibe that not only is reminiscent of Sammy's past, but his present and future as it permeates other tracks like "Going Down" (with Neal Schon, Michael Anthony & Chad Smith).  This song makes me want to listen to a little Chickenfoot as it sounds a lot like "Big Foot" from their most recent release.  My favorite track on this disc is a cover of Bob Seger's  "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" (with David Lauser, Mona Gnader & Vic Johnson) that captures the essence of the original while staying true to the sound and feel good attitude of Sammy and the Wabos.  If you want a fun disc that will add to any feel good atmosphere or party, this just might be the collection of songs to do that.
