(Toronto, Canada) November 6, 2013 – Bubl Technology Inc., a technology startup with the goal to make 360-degree technology available to everyone, has launched a portable and affordable 360-degree camera and software suite. The handheld device captures full panoramic photos and videos, allows consumers to experience and share recorded content as well as stream live video. The Bublcam is available for pre-order on Kickstarter (Link: http://kck.st/19T1C36).

“It all began five years ago,” says Sean Ramsay, founder of Bubl “At the time, Google was using spherical camera technology for mapping. I realized that if we could make this technology portable and affordable for everybody, we could change the way we see the world.”

About the size of a baseball, the Bublcam combines 4 independent lenses in a patent-pending tetrahedral design. The content from each of the four lenses overlaps the adjoining one, so there are zero blind spots. Bubl software then stitches the footage into a sphere, seamlessly blending the photos and videos together in real-time.

With an easy click of the computer mouse or swipe on a tablet or smartphone, users can control their point of view, looking up, down, sideways, diagonally, or all around, with zoom features.

“From news coverage and home surveillance to capturing center stage of a concert, a major sports event, creating an interactive film or just family fun, the markets the Bublcam can affect seem endless,” adds Sean.

An internal Wi-Fi unit even allows users to LIVE stream their video to a PC or mobile phone.

“Imagine video chatting with your family and feeling like you’re actually there. Live streaming on the Bublcam lets you control every angle in real-time.”

The Bublcam is capable of recording video at 1080p at 15fps and 720p at 30fps and captures photos at 14 mega pixels. The media can be stored to an internal Micro SD Card or uploaded directly to a users cloud storage provider like Drop Box, Google Drive, and Younity.

When asked what the future holds for the Bublcam, Sean explains, “We’re developing an open software API and hardware SDK so developers can create applications for the Bublcam we couldn’t even dream of.”

“Bubl has begun by creating environments for the Oculus Rift and allowing the Leap Motion to control our experiences - but I’m excited to see what the developer community will be able to create once they finally get the chance to play with it.”

Following Kickstarter, Bubl will look to release the Bublcam to the mass market (next Spring/Summer) with pre-orders available online through the Bubl website.
