PHILADELPHIA - Gospel Rama will bring its musical celebration of the Lord's love to Philadelphia's Love Park on September 28.
Now in its 18th year, Gospel Rama has become a Philadelphia institution for those interested in spreading the Word. Gospel Rama reaches beyond standard Gospel music, pulling together a variety of musical acts, all with a common thread.
This year's performers include American Idol alumni Sean Michel (Blues), The Messenger (Advance sampling of a new - Rock Opera based on the experiences of The Apostle Paul), David Latham & The Strangers (Singer/Songwriter, Indie Rock), Waiting For The Flood (Praise and Worship, Indie Rock), Scott Karge (Rap), Red Baron (Hip-Hop), and Virtuous (Hip-Hop).
Gospel Rama will also feature speakers and other artistic expressions, including Pastor Alfaro, Assembly of Yahweh (Latin Praise), Yves-Marie Desir (Interpretive Modern Dance), Author and Minister Lisa Hall, and God's Grace International Ministries and Pastors Joses & Chantal St. Phard.
Gospel Rama was founded by Drs. Joses and Chantal St. Phard, Pastors of the Word In Action International Ministries, Inc. (1539 W. Courtland Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140), in September 1995 with the vision of evangelizing the entire city of Philadelphia and the community at large by gathering together one day a year via Gospel Rama.
The first Gospel Rama took place that year at Love Park, Philadelphia, and later moved to City Hall from 1996 to 2011. Gospel Rama had the privilege of returning to Love Park in 2012.
This year's Gospel Rama will begin at 11 a.m. with the blowing of the Shofar, followed by performances and speakers of the Gospel, each praying individually and separately. Gospel and Contemporary Christian Music, Preaching of the Word, Praise Dancing and more will follow until 6 p.m.
