This weekend, Aloe Blacc, Chromeo and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis came together in Las Vegas for one reason…. to pump up the over 43,000 runners who participated in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Festival Weekend events. On Friday night, hundreds of runners kicked off their weekend at a private VIP party with a soulful performance by  “The Man”, Aloe Blacc, who kept it funky with his earlier hits, “I Need A Dollar” to his most recent hit with Avicii, “Wake Me Up.”

Saturday night, Canadian electro-funk and disco duo Chromeo, headlined the inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 5k presented by SLS Hotel. Over 5,000 runners participated in the nighttime 3.1 mile race -which benefitted Opportunity Village and featured neon-lit tunnels and a run on the strip near the hotel- before dancing the night away to Chromeo’s performance.

Grammy Award winners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis got the party started in the start line village on Sunday for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & Half Marathon benefiting the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America . The hip-hop platinum duo ignited the stage with an energetic performance of crowd favorites, “Thrift Shop,” “Can’t Hold Us,” - perfect for the runners as the lyrics mention “this is the moment, tonight is the night, we’ll fight 'til it’s over”- and more. Prior to taking the stage, Macklemore mentioned how he was inspired and was “going to run a marathon and Ryan is going to run the half marathon and then I am going to run another half marathon”.

Music wasn’t just reserved for the headline performances over the weekend! As the start gun and fireworks display erupted, more than 35,000 conquered the Strip at Night at the sold out Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & Half Marathon which featured bands and DJs at every mile, leading up to the eye-popping finish line alongside the erupting Mirage volcano.
