March 18, 2014 — Hollywood, CA — Platinum-selling and Tony-Award winning British singer Alfie Boe will release a new album, entitled Trust, in the U.S. April 29, 2014 via Strange Cargo/Manhattan Records. The album debuted on the U.K. album chart at No. 8 upon its release in November, and to date Boe has sold over three million albums total worldwide.

Known for his traditional operatic and musicals repertoire, Boe takes a different approach on Trust, applying his extraordinary vocal gifts to a soulful set of country and blues, folk and gospel, standards and originals. He puts his own spin on such beloved tunes as Carole King’s “You’ve Got A Friend,” “Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young,” and Jimmy Cliff’s “Many Rivers To Cross,” as well as such timeless classics as “Georgia On My Mind,” and “Danny Boy,” and “Glory, Glory Hallelujah.” He is also joined by Shawn Colvin on Richard Thompson’s “The Dimming of the Day.” (See below for full track-listing.)

Boe will have a guest role this May on the critically-acclaimed PBS television series Mr. Selfridge, joining Jeremy Piven and Katherine Kelly. Boe will perform four songs on the episode, including the classic “Danny Boy.”

Boe is no stranger to PBS, as the network frequently broadcasts the 25th anniversary production of Les Misérables, with Boe in the lead role of Valjean. PBS has also aired two specials: Alfie Live and Storyteller: Live at the Royal Albert Hall. He has also contributed music to the hit PBS series Downton Abbey and two of his songs are featured on the series’ soundtrack.

Trust was produced by the legendary, Grammy-winner Larry Klein (Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Madeleine Peyroux) and performed by a top-notch group of musicians who have variously collaborated with such artists as Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Bill Withers, Rod Stewart, BB King, Sting, Linda Ronstadt, Willie Nelson, and Otis Redding, among others.

"I'm so happy with Trust," concludes Boe. "From beginning to end it was a complete joy to work with these fine musicians. Their experience, combined with the extraordinary talent of musical genius Larry Klein, linked us all together to create an album of amazing emotion. I hope listeners enjoy this new musical journey as much as I did."

Boe has made a name for himself with three consecutive BPI platinum-certified albums, 2010’s Bring Him Home, 2011’s Alfie, and Storyteller, which was released in the U.S. in August. He has been described as “one of the U.K.'s most technically gifted talents” by All-Music and as “absolutely extraordinary” by award-winning director Baz Luhrmann, who cast Boe in his acclaimed 2002 Broadway production of Puccini’s La Bohème in 2002, which ultimately earned Boe the Tony Honor for Excellence in Theatre. He has also been dubbed “opera’s working-class hero” by Britain’s Sunday Express — a declaration that sums up Boe’s unique appeal. He has both a thrilling voice and a dramatic personal story: working-class singer goes from laboring in a factory as a car mechanic to becoming a platinum-selling artist sharing stages with such artists as Queen, Alice Cooper, and Renee Fleming, as well performing at the Diamond Jubilee Concert for Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.
