For the seventh year, LAND SHARK Promotion Studio will play host to a 100% free, "unofficial" Showcase Event in Austin, featuring a kaleidoscope of musicians and bands from across the planet, and the rock n' roll spectrum. Beginning on Wednesday afternoon, March 12th, through Saturday night, March 15th, rock fans in Austin, TX will venture to the notorious BAYOU Lounge (500 E. 6th St.) for four days and nights of 100% free, independent music, highlighting some of today's most-unique, up-and-coming buzz bands and musicians.

"Giving these independent acts a stage to play on, a place to showcase their talent, has always been the impetus behind our event," says LAND SHARK CEO Gary Jay, "and we made it a point this year to really bring a lot of international flavors to the lineup. There are bands coming from Australia, Scotland, Sweden, the U.K., the Netherlands, and Canada, as well as right here in the USA."

One of the can't-miss events taking place on Friday is the World Premiere Listening Party for the forthcoming Ronnie James Dio tribute album, 'This Is Your Life'. Co-hosted by No Control Radio's Chuck Loesch (as heard locally on 101X/Austin), from 3:00 - 5:00pm, attendees will get to hear new tracks from the album, being released on Rhino Records on April 1st, for the very first time, including: Metallica, Rob Halford, Corey Taylor, Halestorm, Anthrax, Scorpions, Motörhead, Tenacious D, and more. "We even asked Wendy Dio to let us raid the Dio online store and donate a massive amount of merch to the party to give away to fans, it's going to be a celebration of Ronnie's music, life, and legacy, and all things Dio! Put your horns up!!", says Gary Jay.

Also on Friday, for those who like it heavy, the soon-to-be-rekindled Metal Edge magazine hosts an evening event featuring three of the most noteworthy new bands on the Active Rock scene, Gemini Syndrome, From Ashes To New, and Starset, who are making their Austin debut, each with unconventional and unforgettable live performances that everyone will be talking about. "Get there early," advises Gary Jay, "these bands have some of the hottest songs on rock radio right now, to see them play live, in this intimate setting, for free, is going to be an experience you won't wanna miss."

Other confirmed acts on the four-day Showcase include these independent buzz bands: Public, Vinyl Thief, Black Mambooza, The Gallery, The Vim Dicta, Birth Of Joy, Holy Esque, Pistol Day Parade, The Donkeys, The Wilderness Of Manitoba, Black Angel Down, New Day Dawn, Red Sun Rising, Like Swimming, Tetrarch, Money For Rope, and more still to be announced.
