The Word Alive has teamed up with Alternative Press to premiere new song "Play The Victim," which is available now on iTunes. This is the first track released from the band's forthcoming album REAL., set to release June 10th.

"With the upcoming release of our third full-length record we wanted to release a song that showcased our overall growth as a band. 'Play The Victim' was our personal choice. It has elements from our early days as well as the progression we've strived for with every release. We never want to release the same song twice, and we feel it stands on it's own. Our new record Real. will be out just before Warped Tour this Summer, and we look forward to the next chapter as a band. Stay tuned, because we have something for everyone this time around!" - Telle Smith, Lead Singer

The Word Alive - Play The Victim (Lyric Video)

Following their current U.S. tour with Memphis May Fire, the band are gearing up for their slot on the entire Vans Warped Tour 2014. The band has already kicked off the year in a big way having already completed international tour dates through Japan on the Scream Out Fest with The Devil Wears Prada, a string of shows in Brazil with labelmates Blessthefall, a show in Mexico City, Mexico with Parkway Drive, and an upcoming slot on the Self Help Festival in San Bernardino, CA with A Day To Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, Of Mice & Men.

THE WORD ALIVE - Telle Smith (vocals), Zack Hansen (guitar), Tony Pizzuti (guitar), Daniel Shapiro (bass), Luke Holland (drums) - shook the metal scene with acclaimed album Life Cycles, which debuted at #50 on the Billboard Top 200. Ganering their global reputation, the band consistently pushes the boundaries within their genre, and have gained press support from Rolling Stone, AOL, Metal Hammer, Kerrang! Magazine, Alternative Press, Rock Sound, Revolver, Modern Drummer, landing lead vocalist "Telle" on the cover of Outburn Magazine earlier this year. The band has toured with A Day To Remember, Underoath, Sleeping With Sirens, Killswitch Engage, We Came As Romans, played the entire Vans Warped Tour, and the Soundwave Festival in Australia.
