(Sacramento, Calif.): Slaves, the new musical project of Jonny Craig (Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa), have premiered the brand new song "The Fire Down Below" via Alternative Press today (April 22).

"Slaves is a project where I was able to fully put what I love into parts, like this song," said Craig. "Many times, music loses its meaning in translation. With this song, and this project, I feel what I came up with is true passion, revealed in its purest form."

Fans can grab the song here, as well.

The band's debut album Through Art We Are All Equals is out June 24 via Artery Recordings. "The Fire Down Below," a sprawling, lush and haunting track that the listener won't soon forget, thanks to the way Craig's vocals snake around the melody, is the first single from the album.

"Men have been enslaving men for as along as we've had gods to hide behind," Craig said about the project upon its announcement. "Every man is a slave to what we love -- whether it be women, drugs, music or sports. Through art, we are all equals."
