New York, NY – (April 23, 2014) – As the New Jersey-based experimental/metal quartet - Torrential Downpour prepare for the release of their new full-length album titled – Truth Knowledge Vision due out June 10th, a new track from the eleven track opus has found its way to the internet via MetalInsider.net.

The song ‘Satan, Whatever…’ can now be streamed in its entirety HERE

With a history that spans across nearly two decades, the members of Torrential Downpour, PrKr (vocals), Matt Cece (Bass), Jason Volpe (guitar), and Pete Costa (drums), continue to copiously churn out new music that characterizes their own unique blend of technical and progressive metal infused with post rock tendencies.

Recorded, Mixed and Mastered by Kevin Antreassian (Dillinger Escape Plan, The Binary Code, The Number 12 Looks Like You) at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, NJ – Truth Knowledge Vision, the group’s third full-length album, contains some of their most challenging and complex compositions to date.

“Our new album - Truth Knowledge Vision touches on areas and sounds not usually focused on in heavy music, and with the track ‘Satan, Whatever…’ we specifically call out the genre we embrace,” says Volpe. “It's our way of stripping the stigmas from a genre that gets pigeonholed too often. Years of crafting and experimenting has culminated in this recording and we are very excited for people to hear what we have put together.”

More on Torrential Downpour: Through a battery of harsh and hauntingly beautiful soundscapes, a voice and language blooms as an entity unto itself that lives through the musicians it harnesses. The muscle that pumps the lifeblood is structured by the imagery and will of the men that serve it.

For Torrential Downpour, the sum of the whole has always been greater than its parts. The combined rhythmic pairing and cerebral functionality of Costa and Cece make up the body, brain, and eyes. The lungs and throat are sustained by vocal manipulator Prkr all the while Volpe channels his transformative love and energy through his guitar playing to manifest the heart and stomach of this sonic being.

Through a natural maturation period during the mid to late 2000s, the group took to refining their sound a bit by injecting more elaborate, improvisational elements. In 2007, they hit the studio to record their first full-length s/t album, which was released independently in 2009.

In 2010, engineer/producer and fellow New Jerseyan Kevin Antreassian (Dillinger Escape Plan, The Binary Code, The Number 12 Looks Like You) partnered with the band to record their second full-length album titled Connected Through. With the release of Connected Through in 2011, the group found themselves gaining notoriety within the Brooklyn underground metal scene and in March of 2012 set out on tour with Dysrhythmia and Cleric.

In 2013, without question Torrential Downpour’s biggest year yet, while coming off a successful summer tour with Car Bomb, Bangladeafy, and Resolution 15, the band re-entered the studio to begin work on a third full length. During this period the band had discovered they had earned a unique opportunity to record at the Converse Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn, NY. Hand-selected by the editors of the popular metal blog MetalSucks.net (hosts of the competition), Torrential Downpour was one out of five bands awarded free studio time. The resulting song ‘Phaneron’ would later be turned into a 4 song continuous EP that highlights the band’s more ambient and experimental tendencies.

In October 2013, the band cashed in yet again by being voted in for a chance to play in front of thousands at the ninth annual Euroblast Festival in Cologne, Germany.  Chosen by a panel of judges which included Nuclear Blast A&R Manager Jaap Wagemaker, Metal Blade Records publicist Vince Edwards, Century Media Records A&R/Product Manager Melanie Schmidt, and producer Eyal Levi (The Black Dahlia Murder, Firewind, Devildriver), the band found themselves sharing the stage with an international cast of acts such as Meshuggah, Dead Letter Circus, The Ocean, Textures, Twelve Foot Ninja, The Agonist, and many more.
