The Tontons recently released their newest song "Lush" - a track recorded, produced and mastered as part of the heralded "Shaking Through" Sessions inPhiladelphia, PA. The Tontons proudly join the ranks of the few bands selected for these carefully chosen sessions including Sharon Van Etten, The So So Glow's, Ava Luna, The Districts and more. This single release of "Lush" is the first new music the band has released since the success of their February 2014 Billboard-ranking indie album Make Out King and Other Stories of Love. The album was produced and mixed at Austin's Church House Studios by Dave Boyle (Iron and Wine, Okkervill River, Robert Plant). The LP hit the Billboard Charts ranking in at #5 on the Regional Heatseekers Chart, #44 for the National Alternative New Artists Albums, #109 National Top New Artists Albums. SPIN called it "40 minutes of natural charisma and steamy hooks," and theThe New York Times ranked the LP on their 2014Texas Most Anticipated Albums List.

A band since 2007, The Tontons are fronted by Asli Omar, whose old-soul vocals heave the band's lyrics forward with empowering, sultry and emotional force. Flanking her is bassist Tom Nguyen, armed with a nimble rumble that forms the sturdy dermis of the band. Brothers Adam and Justin Martinez's titanic guitar-and-drum attack are the dance-ready glue. Omar's voice seems to melt like butter into the cracks of the Earth that the foursome create.

The band is an official Red Bull Sound Select Artist and has been performing at many of summer's largest music festivals including Hangout Music Festival, Firefly Music Festival, Free Press Summer Fest, Pemberton Music Fest and many more.
