BUY FOR THE DEARLY DEPARTED ON iTUNES

(Atlanta, GA) - Five-piece "Theatre Rock" band The Funeral Portrait released their debut EP For The Dearly Departed via Revival Recordings today. The band partnered up with ARTISTdirect.com to offer a "try-before-you-buy" period where you can stream the EP in its entirety. It debuted at no. 136 on the iTunes Rock Chart.

The Funeral Portrait signed to Revival (owned by Shawn Milke of Alesana) earlier this month after recording For The Dearly Departed at Adelaide Recording Studios in Raleigh, NC. The six-song EP was produced by Milke and engineered/mixed by Neil Engle.

"Producing The Funeral Portrait record was an incredible experience," says Milke. "It is so refreshing to be around a band that has a vision and is willing to put in the hard work and go the extra mile to bring that vision to life. Signing them was a no-brainer for me. The sky is truly the limit for TFP."

The band is currently on the "Chaos Is A Ladder Tour" with Alesana, Megosh, and The Things They Carried. Dates and links to purchase tickets are listed below.

WHAT THE PRESS HAS BEEN SAYING ABOUT FOR THE DEARLY DEPARTED

"The unique group is kind of like Set It Off, The Venetia Fair, Chiodos or My Chemical Romance." - AbsolutePunk.net

"I get goosebumps listening to the music, and I absolutely recommend that you go get this EP as soon as it’s released. It’s hands down the best short burst of passionate musical creativity I’ve heard all year." - Yell Magazine (5/5)

"The Funeral Portrait’s debut EP, 'For The Dearly Departed' is theatrical, anthematic and explosive. As far as first impressions go, The Funeral Portrait definitely deliver with this EP" - The Prelude Press

"For an EP, the ideas are absolutely massive. From the theater-esque compostion to the blending of genres to the incredible amount of voices, The Funeral Portrait have found a very unique motif that will get them exceptional recognition if they further develop it and refuse to settle into the cliches of pop rock." - Rock n Reel Reviews (4.5/5)

"The 6 songs you will hear on the album could all fare well on their own as singles, but together they form a masterpeice that is simply amazing." - The DreadMusicReview
