Los Angeles, CA - January 12, 2015 - French multi-instrumentalist Soko today announced that her second album My Dreams Dictate My Reality will be released on March 3rd, 2015. The album, produced by Ross Robinson (The Cure, At The Drive-In) will be released on Soko's own record label Babycat Records through Because Music and features the hypnotic duet "Lovetrap" with friend and lo-fi wizard Ariel Pink.

My Dreams Dictate My Reality brims with angst, shouts, and beautiful chaos. It is a requiem for past selves, inviting listeners to join Soko as she makes peace with her old demons. The tracks flow from her veins, and the experience is intoxicating to behold, and Soko's intensity expresses more of a need to revert than revolt.

Eager to create a more engaging and interactive experience for fans leading up the the album's release, Soko has partnered with Pledge Music on an elaborate pre-order campaign. Fans that pre-order My Dreams Dictate My Reality HERE can additionally purchase unique prizes including personalized polaroids, a makeover from Soko and her stylist, a day of vintage shopping with the artist, and more.

"Who Wears the Pants ??" the lead single from My Dreams Dictate My Reality is available HERE. The song, originally inspired by a conversation between Soko and her friend about sexuality is "her first ever protest song," she said. "I wrote it when I got fed up with all the crap I hear from homophobic demons."

Before Soko became a twenty-something punk, she was a self-assured adult at sixteen, courageously leaving her French village outside Bordeaux all on her own. She pursued an acting career and has appeared in more than a dozen French films including Augustine, which earned her César Award nomination and the Best Actress award at Mar Del Plata International Film Festival.

Her bold venture out into the world was the culmination of a childhood spent as an outsider and struggling to comprehend the losses she faced at an early age. Soko's upcoming album is as much a confrontation of that dark past, as a manifestation of a new reality.

A self-taught talent, Soko began writing songs at age 20, teaching herself guitar after seeing a friend play music and realizing she wanted and could do that, too. After moving to Paris, radio stations in Denmark, Belgium and Australia started spinning her music, and soon she was playing gigs with Daniel Johnston, M.I.A., Babyshambles, and Azure Ray, among others. In addition to her songwriting and acting, she is also known for directing her own boldly spirited DIY music videos and creating her own artwork.

Soko has poured every last ounce of herself into My Dreams Dictate My Reality, seizing up all the unhappiness and darkness from her past and translating it into ecstatic and uninhibited performances. Producer Ross Robinson may capture it best when he says, "For Soko, it's music or death."
