“I used to be in a rock band in Brooklyn called The XYZ Affair. After we broke up, I moved to Los Angeles and found myself playing guitar in pop backing bands as a hired gun, playing music that was not mine on tours that were not mine. I wrote the songs on this EP over the course of several Not-My-Tours, feeling frustrated and voiceless and lonely and often very drunk. The verses to "Whatever Forever" were written on a plane ride from New York to Los Angeles. I scrawled the first words to "Alcohol" on a hotel pad in Mexico City. I wrote the melody to "+1" in the only empty room I could find backstage at an arena in Lithuania. These songs have helped me make sense of a period that has felt senseless and disjointed.

I grew up believing that a dude and a guitar could save the world. Now I've seen most of the world, and I still believe it.” – Alex Feder
