Maia Sharp's "Nothing But the Radio" continues to seduce radio programmers at the Triple A format, climbing into BDS' Top 20 in its first four weeks at radio and garnering Most Added and Greatest Gainer status for three consecutive weeks. The lyric video for the track can be viewed HERE. While the vintage radio that appears front and center in the new video leaves a lot to the imagination, lyrics like these below paint a pretty clear picture of what was on Maia's mind as she wrote the lighthearted single:

"I've been waiting a thousand years - to fall into your eyes and disappear

The temperature's high - take off your shirt

And don't stop.........'til there's nothing but the radio on"

"Nothing But the Radio" is the first single from The Dash Between The Dates, which is Sharp's first album for eOne Music. It will be released on October 16. Sharp will kick off her U.S. headline tour on October 15. See below for itinerary.

Fans who pre-order the album digitally will instantly receive "Nothing But the Radio" and "The Dash Between The Dates." PopMatters praised the latter as "the knock-out title track," going on to note, "she has an uncanny knack for subtle, simple poetry and an ear for a tremendous hook, all of which are on display."

 

Sharp co-produced the album with multi-instrumentalist/longtime collaborator Linda Taylor. Other featured artists include Eurythmics co-founder Dave Stewart, Lizz Wright,Gabe Dixon and Arnold McCuller.

 

In addition to winning a passionate grass-roots fan base for her recordings, Sharphas established herself as a songwriter's songwriter. Among the artists who've recorded her compositions are Bonnie Raitt (who also guested on Maia's last album, Change the Ending), Cher, the Dixie Chicks, Crystal Bowersox, Keb' Mo', Lisa Loeb, Trisha Yearwood, Jessie Baylin, Paul Carrack, Terri Clark, Kathy Mattea, Edwin McCain, Lizz Wright, Kim Richey, Joey Ryan, Mindy Smith and David Wilcox. She's also spread her wings as a producer, overseeing recordings by Bowersox, McCain and Art Garfunkel.
