Billboard have announced the first-ever “Billboard Greatest of All Time Rankings" for its legendary Hot 100 and Billboard 200 song, album and artist charts. Foreigner rocked every single list, proving the staying power of one of rock’s most prolific bands. In some categories, Foreigner outshined contemporary major artists including Taylor Swift, Kid Rock, Kate Perry and Kanye West. Here are some highlights:

  • In the all-time top Billboard 200 Albums chart, Foreigner’s 4 comes in at #46 ahead of The Beatles’ Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club, Pink Floyd’s The Wall U2’s Joshua Tree. Foreigner 4 spent more weeks at # 1 than albums by Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton or any other band in Atlantic Records 65 year history.
  • In the all-time top Billboard 200 Artists chart, Foreigner comes in at #62 ahead of Simon & Garfunkel, Heart, The Who and many more.
  • In the all-time top Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart, Foreigner hit “Waiting for A Girl Like You” comes in at #95. The song spent 14 weeks at #2, a record for the chart. It placed ahead of Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse,” and anything by The Eagles, Journey and most of their Classic Rock peers.
  • In the all-time top Billboard Hot 100 Artists chart, Foreigner comes in at #56 ahead of such powerhouse artists as The Eagles, Queen, Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Springsteen.

With ten multi-platinum albums and sixteen Top 30 hits, Foreigner is celebrated as one of the most popular rock acts in the world that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 75 million. Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems, Foreigner continues to rock the charts more than thirty years into the game.

Foreigner’s popularity continues to soar, having taken over the US media in 2015 with recent music usage in shows like Orange Is the New Black, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and films like Pitch Perfect, and Magic Mike. Foreigner is sure to generate the same excitement in Europe and Israel this summer as they bring their enduring brand of rock and popularity across the sea.

“Our music has touched a lot of people worldwide,” says lead guitar player Mick Jones. “Unwittingly, we've weaved into the fabric of people's lives.”

At Foreigner’s core is founder and lead guitarist Mick Jones, the visionary maestro whose stylistic songwriting, indelible guitar hooks and multi-layered talents continue to escalate Foreigner’s influence, along with lead vocalist Kelly Hansen, bass guitarist Jeff Pilson, and multi-instrumentalist Tom Gimbel. In June 2013, Mick Jones was inducted to the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. A multi-talented and multi-dimensional “musician’s musician,” Jones has also written songs such as “Bad Love” with Eric Clapton and “Dreamer” with Ozzy Osbourne, and produced records for others including Billy Joel’s Storm Front and Van Halen’s 5150.
