(New York, N.Y.): Metalcore powerhouse FOR TODAY released Wake worldwide via Nuclear Blast earlier this fall.

Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr continued to demonstrate his love for the band in a discussion with his local ABC sports anchor.

The band just wrapped a headlining, record release tour in support of Wake, with most dates selling out or coming incredibly close to selling out. Expect more For Today tour dates on the horizon in early 2016; those will be announced soon.

In the middle of the headline tour, frontman Mattie Montgomery took advantage of the rare off day to fly from New York City, after a packed show, to Nashville, so he could perform at 46th Annual Dove Awards. The Doves are the Christian equivalent of the Grammys, honoring outstanding achievements and excellence in Christian music.

Montgomery took the stage with rapper KB. Watch their room-shaking performance here.

The band's album Fight the Silence was nominated for "Best Rock Album of the Year" at the Doves.

Lookout for the band's upcoming profile in Revolver, which shows the otherside of For Today. Also, guitarist Ryan Leitru is featured in the latest issue of Guitar World and recently filmed a playthrough of Wake's lead track "Broken Lens" at the GW studios.

Be sure and check out "Bitter Roots," a contemplative track that's a bit of a sonic departure for For Today. It's less brutal than most songs on Wake. But it's equally as impactful. Watch the "Bitter Roots" video here.

"Our new song 'Bitter Roots' is a dramatic departure from much of what For Today has been known for," Montgomery said. "We decided to break the mold and simply write what was inside us, without worrying about fitting in a particular genre box. While it's very different, we love the song, and we're so excited to share it with the world."
