Elektra/Atlantic recording artist Kaleo has announced plans for a major U.S. headline tour, the “Way Down We Go Tour,” presented by SiriusXM’s The Spectrum, who named Kaleo one of their “Spectrum Certified” artists, the channel’s ongoing initiative to introduce new, emerging artists to SiriusXM listeners.

The “Way Down We Go Tour” gets underway February 18th at Nashville, TN’s Mercy Lounge and then continue through mid-March (see attached itinerary). Support throughout comes from Atlantic recording artist firekid. Tickets for the tour will be on sale from Friday, December 11th. For complete details, please visit www.officialkaleo.com.

“Way Down We Go,” Kaleo’s new single, earned immediate attention from Noisey and is now top 25 at Triple A radio outlets nationwide while also surpassing 2 million Spotify streams, with early airplay on SiriusXM’s The Spectrum as well as KBCO Denver, WXRV Boston and KGSR Austin.  What’s more, “Way Down We Go” is included on the soundtrack to EA Sports’ smash FIFA 16 video game and was also featured in NBC’s “Blindspot” and in trailers announcing the new season of the hit HBO® series, The Leftovers.

SiriusXM’s The Spectrum first named Kaleo a “Spectrum Certified” artist in January, when they were the first to support the band’s first single, “All The Pretty Girls,” which later proved a multi-format success, with top 10 play at Triple A radio outlets nationwide, more than 1 million YouTube views, and Spotify streams well in excess of 6.5 million.  The SiriusXM channel still holds the most spins on that song to date.

An additional Kaleo track, “No Good,” is currently featured in the hit trailer for the upcoming HBO® series, “Vinyl,” the new drama series from Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terence Winter premiering Sunday, Feb. 14. “No Good” is streaming in its entirety at Kaleo’s official YouTube channel, Kaleo Music.

Already a phenomenon in their native Iceland, Kaleo recently relocated to Austin, TX and have spent much of the past year on the road, winning over new fans across the country on tours supporting such like-minded artists as Family of the Year and fellow Atlantic recording artist Vance Joy, as well as performances at major music festivals including Bonnaroo 2015, Life is Beautiful, and the ACL Music Festival.  The band is currently recording their Elektra/Atlantic debut album alongside producer Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, James Bay).

Opener firekid is the musical brainchild of Nashville-based singer/guitarist Dillon Hodges, who has earned applause for the transcendent fusion of country, indie, folk, bluegrass, and Southern rock found on his recently released, self-titled debut album, “firekid.”  The Alabama-born Hodges proved a prodigy upon first picking up the guitar, winning the National Flat Pick Guitar Championship as a 17-year old high school senior – the second youngest person to ever win the prestigious competition. Paste hailed “firekid,” which Hodges recorded in his hometown of Muscle Shoals, AL, with producer/songwriter Sam Hollander (The Fray, Train), for possessing “an accessible sound that stays true to Hodges’ country background, but… continues to push (the) boundaries.”  “Magic Mountain,” the first single from “firekid,” can be heard on SiriusXM’s AltNation.
