[New York, NY – February 13, 2015] Aretha Franklin adds another accolade to her illustrious career – NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Album for her critically-acclaimed Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics, announced during TV One’s live broadcast of the 46^th NAACP Image Awards on February 6.

The recipient of the prestigious NAACP Vanguard Award in 2008, Ms. Franklin had this to say regarding the win: "I am absolutely thrilled with receiving another Image Award from the very prestigious NAACP. Many thanks to Julian Bond, Ben Jealous and Cornell Williams Brooks for their many years of dedicated and dynamic leadership, Clive Davis, CCO of Sony Music Entertainment for the album's concept, and the staff who supported this magnificent award."

Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics was released on September 30 via RCA Records and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.  The record received critical acclaim from countless outlets including, New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Associated Press, who stated The Queen of Soul “sings the sound of America like nobody else.  ‘Divas’ proves Franklin's still got it, and it shows that we've still got her.”  USA Today writes “At a time when so many younger divas, even gifted ones, are Auto-Tuned nearly beyond recognition, there is something deeply satisfying about hearing a still-great voice pour forth without hesitation or doubt. Franklin is indeed a survivor, and let's be grateful for that.”
