Los Angeles based quartet Go Betty Go are back, here to stay and recently released their latest effort REBOOT, produced by Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Flogging Molly,) fan-funded via a Pledge Music campaign and out now.

Join them “Loud and Raw” from GBG Headquarters for a “pay-what-you-can” Stage-it performance and party this Saturday, February 21 at noon PST.  The band will be playing songs from REBOOT as well as their previous release and might even take some attendees requests.   They will also be giving away a hubcap signed by the band from their touring RV.

Reunited with the original line-up Go Betty Go are sisters Nicolette (lead vocals) and Aixa Vilar (drums,) Betty Cisneros (guitar,) and Michelle Rangel (bass.)

The new EP has all the classic Go Betty Go impact, but songs like “Cemetery Stone” and “It Haunts You Now” are drawn from a deeper, far more shadowy territory. They have created an even richer and more engaging sound, loaded with lush atmosphere and, at times, an underlying sense of the foreboding, yet still ably uphold the banging, high impact GBG sound.

Formed in 2000 when they were all attending high school in Glendale California, Go Betty Go swiftly ascended from local shows to a standing room only weeknight residency at Los Angeles dive Mr. T Bowl’s to a national reputation via reams of critical acclaim and non-stop gigging. Early on the band caught the attention of Los Angeles Independent SideOneDummy Records and released their debut EP, Worst Enemy in 2004. They almost immediately hit the road and surged through two lengthy Vans Warped Tours, frequent appearances in Mexico, endless hometown shows and an invasion of South by Southwest. With the release of 2005’s Nothing is More, their first full length album they set out a coast to coast tour with label-mates MxPx. They never finished it—Nicolette found herself exhausted, unhappy and burned out. She walked away and the group fell apart. Fast forward to 2012, a friend of guitarist Betty suggested a one off gig and all four original members found themselves reunited on stage. As soon as the foursome hit the stage they were back, road ready and revitalized as suddenly as they had split.
