By day, Keith, Brian, Josh, Kyle, and Jonathan might seem like any regular group of guys walking down the street. Once night falls and crowds begin to fill up rooms, however, these businessman who work as ad execs, graphic designers, and video game creators put their briefcases into hiding. It’s then that they transform into Controller, a punk rock-influenced new wave band who have shared the stage with Strange Talk and have been featured on Billboard, USA Today, and MTV. The guys go from riding the subway and sitting in cubicles with the rest of the working world, to controlling audiences with raucous, bombastic songs (akin to those created by Bloc Party, INXS, The Killers and The Clash) by convulsing on stage, jumping into live crowds, and throwing flowers.

Since 2013, Controller have basically been crafting the story of their very own graphic novel. While Scott Pilgrim and Sex Bob-omb might have had to consider a seedy record deal with Gideon Graves, the unsigned Controller have already released their self-titled EP and single, “Tokyo / Street Lights,” have seen a single (their latest, “Separator”) debut at #7 on alternative specialty radio singles charts (FMQB and KKBB), and are set to debut a new EP produced/mixed by Danny Kalb (Beck, Ben Harper, Karen O) this spring. The source of their superpowers can be found in the feelings we all experience while dealing the ugly side of relationships, reading weird news stories, and coming home from really bad dates. While the band’s denouement is not yet written, there’s a good chance it will feature sold-out arenas and #1 fans who don Controller tees.
