March 18, 2015, San Francisco – Primitive Race, an industrial outfit helmed by longtime album producer Chris Kniker (Lords of Acid, RevCo) and including players Graham Crabb (Pop Will Eat Itself), Erie Loch (Luxt, Exageist) and Mark Gemini Thwalte (Peter Murphy, Gary Numan), have signed to Metropolis Records and will release their self-titled debut full-length this summer.

“I’ve been fortunate enough in my life to meet and have a great group of talented friends. From an early age, I always had a deep admiration for collaborations between artists from different groups and genres. The comradery and creativeness that came from artists on cool labels like Wax Trax, Dischord, Ipecac and Alternative Tentacles always interested and inspired me,” explained Primitive Race found/bass player Kniker. “An old friend of mine, Gidget Gein, had encouraged me for years to play my bass again. After his passing in 2008, I started up in his honor. At first, it was just a hobby but after working on a bunch of records for other bands, I got the nerve up to ask my musician friends if they’d like to join me in what became Primitive Race. I was shocked at the result and wish Gidget was here to see this.”

Additional guests on the band’s debut full-length include Prong’s Tommy Victor, production superstar Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails) and Combichrist’s Kourney Klein.

Preceding the release of the band’s first full-length is a joint EP with Raymond Watts (ex-KMFDM, PIG),Pig vs. Primitive Race, which arrives on June 19 via Metropolis Records.  The Long In The Tooth EP features three original songs as well as remixes by Lords of Acid’s Praga Khan, Crabb, Pigface’s Mary Byker, as well as Chris Connelly and Paul Barker’s Bells Into Machines.
