New York based (by way of Iran, Vienna & London) artist Rob Decoup releases his debut album Rays of Sun, produced by Mike Plotnikoff  (Buckcherry, Drowning Pool, Skillet, We As Human, Rascal Flatts, Halestorm) and out on March 31.

The first song released from Rays of Sun was the anti-war tune “War Hero,” with a video that created a visual experience that celebrated Ukraine’s quest to break free from Russia (and was subsequently banned all over Russian TV.) The latest song ‘Roll’ is packed full of intense musical arrangements and relevant lyrics. Overflowing with ’90s-era guitar licks and a non-stop groove throughout, the song has an underlying message beneath its rock and roll. “It’s anti-conformist, challenging socioreligious dogmas” Decoup explains.

Decoup’s upcoming album encompasses a slew of songs that’ll capture the hearts and minds of rock and rollers. To compliment this colorful arrangeme nt of storytelling, Decoup assembled a sturdy cast of players to realize the rhythm and urgency of his songs. “Eric Friedman from Creed is on guitar, Marty O’Brien from Lita Ford’s band plays bass, Phil X who replaced Richie Sambora as touring guitarist for Bon Jovi lays down some nice leads and Dan Welby did the basic drum tracks.” says Decoup

The song “War Hero” is available now at all digital outlets.  Rob plans to make a personal donation of 30% of all proceeds from the sale of the single to the Books for Soldiers Fund Drive a non-profit that services deployed American troops with books and care packages.  More on Books for Soldiers here: http://booksforsoldiers.com

Decoup also has a band of seasoned players he gathers for touring and even for the occasional festival opportunity like the day he supported Iron Maiden at Topfest 2013 in Slovakia and hammered out an impressive 45 minute set to the delight of 30,000 central European fans.  He also performed strong sets at the venerable CMJ music conference in New York, in the Calvin Klein music lounge at Lollapalooza, impressed the tastemakers at Austin’s SXSW and most recently shared the stage with Saving Abel on their 2014 tour run.

Listen carefully, the lyrics throughout Rays of Sun are intensely personal and delivered with complete sincerity.
