(June 24, 2015 - New York, NY) – Over the weekend, fans used Shazam to unlock the trailer for the new music video of Shawn Mendes’ single, “Stitches,” and have been clamoring for the full reveal ever since. After catapulting hashtag, #NewStitchesVideoToday, to trend worldwide on Twitter, the wait is finally over! Shawn delighted fans when he dropped the eagerly awaited full music video for his current hit single, which is available now on VEVO.

“Stitches” is Shawn’s first single from his Island Records debut album Handwritten, which rocketed to No. 1 on the iTunes chart upon its April 14 release earlier this year and made Shawn the youngest artist in nearly five years to have a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.

Shawn, hailed as one of Time Magazine’s most influential teens of 2014, was also crowned “The real deal” by Teen Vogue.  Shawn transitioned from teen viral online sensation to full-fledged industry best-seller when his videos were discovered online by manager Andrew Gertler & he was introduced and signed to Island Records. He has since performed live on the The Late Show With David Letterman, ABC’s Good Morning America, Live with Kelly & Michael,NBC's Today Show, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.  He also performed on & was interviewed by Ellen.

After touring across the U.S. and Canada on Austin Mahone’s Secret Tour in 2014, Shawn joined Taylor Swift on her sold-out 1989 Tour in May as an opening act through October. Throughout the Taylor tour, Shawn will be headlining his own shows in between her dates, including the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, his biggest headlining show yet!  The Greek Theater date, billed as ShawnAccessLive, will not only be his biggest solo show, but will also be filmed for later release with special guests to be announced.
