NEW YORK, NY – The Outlaw Roadshow (http://theoutlawroadshow.com) founded by the Counting Crows’ Adam Duritz and music blogger Ryan Spaulding (http://rslblog.com) arrives in Nashville for this first time ever this weekend for two days of free amazing music and 31 bands.
The event takes place in Nashville’s famous Cannery Row. Entry to the shows hosted at The Mercy Lounge and The High Watt is completely free. (18+ only) VIP tickets to the event can be won from media partner Lightning 100. Venue access will be limited to legal capacity.
Whether fans are at the event or on the other side of the world they can keep up with the artists from this year’s show by downloading the new, free app for The Outlaw Roadshow. Available now in IOS and Android from iTunes and the Google Play store. It features set times, bios, streaming audio and more!
Duritz and Spaulding met during a press interview in 2008 as Counting Crows were about to release their Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings album. They became fast friends and continue to talk all the time, vowing to one day find a way to collaborate. After the first Roadshows - conducted in Austin, and in NewYork City, they knew they were on to something. Then in 2012, Counting Crows took The Outlaw Roadshow on a full-blown US tour and the bands from these shows were cast in the national spotlight in cities coast-to-coast.
"This will be the first ever Outlaw in Nashville and we're really excited, " said Spaulding. "This was the vision I had for the event all along.. To be in a music city and sharing discoveries with friends. It's like making a mixtape for someone who can and will enjoy it. This is just a better music event - and it's exciting to find a new home."
The Outlaw Roadshow is a network of music-minded friends. Along with Duritz and Spaulding, producers of the project currently include; Joe Clemons (Nashville) Barbara Rappaport (Austin) Frank Germano (New Orleans) and Lindsay Nie (Boston).
The Outlaw Roadshow was held in Austin this March and will return to New York City to the world famous Bowery Electric on October 15, 16, 17. Media captured in each city is maintained - and while some is leaked periodically, the package will serve as a time capsule of the very best days.
