As The Kentucky Headhunters celebrate 25 years this year since their album, Pickin’ On Nashville (Mercury Records), sold over two million copies and garnered a GRAMMY Award, multiple CMA Awards, an American Music Award and an ACM Award, they will bring their new tunes to town with a special album release party on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 3rd and Lindsley for their No. 1 Billboard Blues Chart debut, Meet Me In Bluesland (Alligator Records).

Meet Me In Bluesland hit stores on June 2 and features Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Johnnie Johnson, known as “the greatest sideman in rock and roll,” for his groundbreaking piano work with Chuck Berry. The album was hailed by acclaimed critic Dave DiMartino as “a rocking joy through and through, an unexpected romp that’s as good to hear as it must have been to perform. This is great, upbeat stuff that you'd expect to never see the light of day – but here in fact it has, and it’s very good indeed.” And No Depression’s Grant Britt writes, “Age has only improved this offering, rockin’ Appalachia-billy that'll but a big ole grin on your face.” Listen to select tracks from Meet Me In Bluesland via Soundcloud here.
