NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (Aug. 10, 2015) - Long before Elvis warned us to steer clear of his “Blue Suede Shoes,” fashion has had a place in the world of music. On Sunday, Nov. 1, this creative allegiance will be celebrated at OFF THE RECORD, an elite Nashville fashion event featuring an exclusive runway show, benefiting the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
OFF THE RECORD will bring the excitement and buzz of New York Fashion Week to Music City via a catwalk filled with nationally recognized and celebrity models wearing covetable clothing and accessories from the world’s hottest fashion brands, as well as a very select group of Nashville area designers. The invitation-only affair will be held at the lavish estate of Sylvia Roberts, a location many guests will recognize from its appearance on the TV show Nashville. The event will also feature entertainment from very special musical guests, to be announced.
OFF THE RECORD is being organized by Gil and Liz Cunningham and Jessica Beattie of Nashville's Neste Event Marketing, and celebrity stylist Christiev Alphin. Held three days prior to the 2015 Country Music Association Awards ceremony, OFF THE RECORD’s guest list will be a who’s-who of the world of the entertainment, drawing from Nashville, New York, Los Angeles and beyond.
“Our goal was to bring music industry leaders, artists and VIPs together for an evening, turn off the work mind, dress up head to toe, have fun and feel alive,” event coordinator Beattie said. “Fashion is a part of our identity. Nashville being the ‘it city’ needed a monumental fashion show that represents world-renowned designers and locally produced designer collections. We wanted to see the unthinkable come to life.”
As Strategic Event Director, Beattie leads the production with the Cunninghams. Alphin is OFF THE RECORD’s Creative Director and Lead Stylist. David Fischette, of Go West Creative, is the Event Designer, Reilly Newman has signed on as the Graphic Designer and Essential Broadcast Media helms publicity for the event. Beattie also thanked Fletcher Foster and Tony Conway for their contributions.
The show will feature off-beat designs ranging from street style to stage costumes and runway-ready creations. More than 80 styles will be featured in the one-hour show.
Alphin, wife of Big Kenny of Big & Rich, has been a celebrity stylist and designer for 20 years. She was previously the creative director at EMI and is a North American model scout for Next Model Management NYC and Karin’s Paris.
“I am so excited to be part of a world-class event, presenting an epic evening that only a mixture of ‘fashion, designers, & musicians’ can create,” Alphin said. “My goal is to celebrate and inspire our industry’s artist and leaders by sharing the same common goal of keeping Nashville as fashion forward as our music!”
“By supporting Second Harvest, you help the entire community as their efforts directly impact so many other non-profits,” Roberts said. "I am excited to open my home for this inaugural event and help Second Harvest with their mission."
Four people are fed from every dollar raised by Second Harvest, with ninety-six cents going directly to food purchase. The organization provides aid to all non-profits with feeding programs in the community.
Tickets are limited to 800 for the event and go on sale Monday, Aug. 10. Purchasers must be on the invite list and must enter their first and last name and a special show code to buy tickets.
A full list of designers, models and entertainers will be announced at a later date. For more information about OFF THE RECORD and links to Second Harvest, visit www.offtherecordnashville.com.
