Firekid, the musical brainchild of flat-picking guitar champion Dillon Hodges, has announced today new tour dates with Passion Pit as well as Madisen Ward & the Mama Bear.  (See full itinerary below.)

Earlier this week, Paste premiered firekid’s debut album, set for release tomorrow:  http://smarturl.it/FirekidPastePremiere.

According to Paste, “The album shows off Hodges’ versatility with soulful foot-stompers like ‘Gospel’ and some serious finger-picking on ‘Die for Alabama.’ Hodges plays with the maturity of someone who has been in the business for decades, and his energy translates onto firekid.”

Buzzfeed and MTV have also taken note of firekid’s affinity for chiptune, or the music he makes with the help of his Nintendo Gameboy and often posts on his Instagram—not exactly what one would expect from an artist who melds country, indie, folk, bluegrass, and Southern rock.
