Toronto-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, Francesco Yates, celebrates his 20th birthday with the release of his self-titled EP today via Atlantic Records.  Yates shared two new singles last month to herald the release of his EP: “Honey, I’m Home” and “Change The Channel” which can both be streamed here (LINK TK).

“Francesco Yates does not hold back on his seductively funky single “Change The Channel.” Scattered with piercing Prince squeals, Yates reaches rockstar status with wildly distorted guitar licks.” declares SPIN. “Change The Channel” is preceded by Yates’ “Honey, I’m Home” which had its world premiere via The FADER and is streaming now at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXAkgq8l0jM.

Additionally, Yates is featured on German producer, Robin Schulz’s, hit single “SUGAR.” The official music video has now amassed nearly 9M views. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watchv=bvC_0foemLY.

Francesco celebrates his EP with a major North American tour. The dates – which see him supporting Atlantic label mate Jess Glynne – get underway September 14th at Washington, DC’s U Street and then continue through the month (see attached itinerary). For complete details and additional live dates, please see www.francescoyates.com/tour.

“FRANCESCO YATES” – featuring production by multiple GRAMMY® Award winner Pharrell Williams and Robin Hannibal (Kendrick Lamar, Jessie Ware) – sees Yates crafting a striking synthesis of pop, R&B, and soul, all lifted up by his evocative lyricism and striking vocal delivery. He joined Atlantic Records’ historic roster at 16 and has since worked tirelessly to advance his unique creative vision.

“He's absolutely gonna be just a huge, huge, huge pop star,” Pharrell Williams has said. “But not in the way people have been thinking of pop music in the past ten years.” “The Canadian singer is ready to make a major impact in the game,” noted Complex, adding, “Francesco's music brings a refreshing up-tempo, yet calming sound to the table.” Yates leaves “an immediate impression with his style-defining Afro and a shockingly vibrant falsetto,” agreed Variety, while NOISEY declared the talented young musician to be “the Nile Rodgers of people who can’t drink yet.”
