Atlantic recording artist Max Frost has announced the release of his new EP. “INTOXICATION” arrives everywhere on Friday, September 25th.

“INTOXICATION” – which follows the Austin, TX-based tunesmith’s much-admired 2013 debut EP, “LOW HIGH LOW” – is highlighted by the new single, “Withdrawal.” The track premiered last week on the music blog Indie Shuffle and went on to hit #1 on the Hype Machine’s “Most Popular Tracks on Blogs Now” chart.  “Withdrawal” is now available at all digital retailers.

Frost will celebrate “INTOXICATION” with a major North American tour alongside fellow Austinites Wild Child, set to get underway October 7th at San Diego, CA’s The Irenic and then travel through the month (see attached itinerary).

Frost – who has spent much of this year splitting his time between recording and touring, including appearances at South By Southwest (SXSW) and Firefly Music Festival – is also set for a number of upcoming headline dates, including an official ACL Festival Late Night Show at Austin, TX’s Parish on October 3rd. Named by both NPR and Rolling Stone as one of “10 Artists You Need To Know,” Max Frost has earned acclaim with his electrifyingly idiosyncratic sonic blend, a musical merging of soul, funk, hip-hop, pop, and electronica that saw 2013’s breakthrough single, “White Lies,” lauded in such high profile national outlets as Interview, Billboard,  and NPR Music.

The April 2013 release of “White Lies” proved an instant sensation, topping The Hype Machine’s “Most Popular Tracks on Blogs Now” chart in both April and May while also scoring placement in a nationally televised Beats By Dre commercial that even saw an appearance from Max himself.   “Paste hailed the track as “a jolt of energy,” naming it among “The Best Songs of 2013 So Far.”  “A soul-pop gem with nimble vocal delivery, suspicious lyrics, and an irresistible groove,” said The Austin Chronicle, while My Old Kentucky Blog praised the song as “accessible, dancey…No need for multiple listens. This one will hit you immediately.” “The upbeat guitar mixed with the synthy electronic production come together to form a killer musical marriage,” declared Pigeons & Planes, adding, “If this is what the newcomer has to offer below the radar, it will be very exciting to see what he comes up with once he breaks.”

Frost then released his debut EP, “LOW HIGH LOW,” in October 2013. The EP affirmed the promise of “White Lies” and then some, with the single, “Nice and Slow,” earning top 3 status on The Hype Machine blog rankings. The multi-talented tunesmith celebrated with a nearly non-stop tour schedule, headlining his own shows while also sharing stages with Warner Bros. recording artist Gary Clark Jr. and Fitz & The Tantrums.
