LOS ANGELES, CA - Wednesday, September 16, 2015 -- Olugbenga, the Nigerian-born, London-based producer/musician, bass player for the UK band Metronomy and big fan of the innovative Danish indie-prog-rock band Mew, has just completed a special remix for Mew's track"Witness."  Check out Brooklyn Vegan's premiere of the track here:

Olugbenga is such an ardent fan of Mew's, he offered to do the remix.  "I caught the video for The Zookeeper's Boy on MTV2 one day after school," he said, "then I heard Apocalypso. I have been hooked on the music of Mew ever since then. There is always a giddy smile on my face as I follow the strange perambulations of this music that should not work and yet works so well. The indelible melodies play a big part."

While the remix bears all the earmarks of Mew's majestic sound, Olugbenga's stamp is clearly evident throughout the piece.  "I could have remixed any song from + -, because I love this album just as much as the others. I had a lot of fun with 'Witness' and I'm honored that people will get a chance to hear it."

On Thursday, September 17, Mew - Jonas Bjerre/vocals, Silas Utke Graae Jorgensen/drums and bassist Johan Wohlert, with guest guitarist Mads Wegner and keyboardist Nick Watts - will begin its first North American headline tour in five-plus years.  The band will bring its cinematic and trippy sound to theatres, large clubs and ballrooms over a three-week period as they work their way cross-country to wrap up in Boston on October 11.  The set list will include fan-favorites such as "Zookeeper's Boy," "Am I Wry? No," "Comforting Sounds," and "Snow Brigade," interspersed seamlessly alongside new tracks like "Satellites," "Water Slides," and of course "Witness."  The Dodos will support on all dates.

Mew has recently made available the deluxe version of " + - " exclusively through iTunes.  The deluxe set contains the original album, plus bonus acoustic versions of seven of the albums tracks, two remixes of "Water Slides" (one by 808 State/Graham Massey, the other by NO CEREMONY///), and one brand new tune, "Daddy Drone."
