The hot commodity used to be the art, but in the digital age it has become the attention of the artist. Two sites have been created to harness this phenomenon by building communities that will align their priorities with those of the artists they admire - TrooPeers and PeerTracks.

The opensource MUSE Blockchain acts as a token creator and token marketplace (which translates to Crowdfunding, Fan Engagement and Talent Discovery). Drilling down into music-related applications for MUSE, it is a global copyright and music metadata database, an instant royalty splitter and payer of royalties directly to rights-holders.

Artists can create and sell their own VIP tokens, a Backstage Pass to their world, whose value would be tied to their popularity. The primary ability to raise funds will be tied to the sale of said tokens to fans. Funds can also be raised on both sites by patronage, selling merchandise and selling music.

TrooPeers focuses on community - the accumulation of tokens can raise one’s ‘status’ in the fan community. This is not limited to the world of music - it is inclusive of Sports Figures, Internet Celebs, Actors, Dancers and anyone else with a community around them. Incentives for a celeb’s “Troops” to help move their career forward can be built around the number of tokens someone has - like getting to the top of the celeb’s email inbox, a streaming Q&A with the celeb, discounted merchandise or sponsor perks for those above a certain amount of tokens. An array of options will be available to the fan on TrooPeers - they can chat with each other, they can reach out to the celeb, they can trade or sell tokens to one another and more.

Peer Tracks focuses on discovery. New music is everywhere - you can buy it, you can stream it, but where do you find it if you don’t know exactly what you are looking for?! If you listen to a genre-specific playlist on PeerTracks and like a song, you can buy tokens right then and there and become part of that artist's community instantly. These tokens transfer over to TrooPeers as well. This works out well for musicians, who finally get transparency when it comes to getting paid correctly, easily and quickly due to the open nature of this non-proprietary database.
