"Vote," which features lead vocals by Ronin, appeared on The Citizens Bands' album Grab a Root and Growl and urges listeners to remember the importance of participation in the democratic process. Taking cues from European cabaret and American vaudeville where the fun and bawdy was mixed with awareness of socio-political and economic issues, The Citizens Band demonstrate how political anxiety and calls for change can be channeled into glamorous, entertaining and eye-opening art.

The Citizens Band is made up of a central cast, including Grab a Root and Growl staple performers Rain Phoenix, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Nina Persson, Karen Elson, Ian Buchanan, Jorjee Douglass, Zoë Kravitz, Leah Siegel, Michael Cavadias, Adam Crystal, Mark McAdam, Paul Cantelon, Dave Lebleu, Mr. Blue, Turner Cody, Mike Jackson, Angela McCluskey, Amy Miles, Jon Natchez, Jeff Palmiotti, Matt Ray, Ronin and Rachelle Garniez, and is always welcoming guest performers such as actress Julia Stiles, cultural icon Cyndi Lauper, composer-musician Craig Wedren, actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, multi-talented performer Zooey Deschanel, actress Alia Shawkat, singer/performer Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls), actress/comedian Lea DeLaria (Orange Is The New Black), Meredith Graves (Perfect Pussy), rock goddess Melissa Auf Der Maur, singer-songwriter Holly Miranda and political commentator/community organizer Sally Kohn.
