NEW YORK, NY (December 2, 2016) – Known for their countless chart-topping hits, multi-platinum-selling band TRAIN today announces their much awaited tenth studio album, a girl a bottle a boat, set for release on January 27, 2017 on Columbia Records.  The new album follows 2014’s release of Bulletproof Picasso, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 Chart, and marks the group’s first release of all-new original music since. a girl a bottle a boat is now available for pre-order now here: https://fanlink.to/agirlabottleaboat

"Every album I've ever been a part of writing has had a fair amount of difficulty. Wanting to touch people's lives is a daunting task but when it happens it makes all of the blood sweat and tears worth it,” said Train frontman, Pat Monahan. "a girl a bottle a boat has been the most fun and fulfilling I think of all of the Train albums.”

The album’s first single, “Play That Song,” is already seeing success in the U.S. and globally, including the band’s explosive debut broadcast performance of the track on Dancing with the Stars, which shot the song up over 50 slots overnight on the iTunes chart. The track continues to pick up speed, this week entering the Billboard Hot 100, and has become one of the top songs on Shazam in the United States. The group has consistently been at the forefront of contemporary music and have had 14 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 list since their self-titled debut in 1994. Sampling the beloved melody from “Heart and Soul,” Train’s “Play That Song” is a feel-good anthem, brimming with a playful liveliness mirrored in its latest companion video.  The video features singer Pat Monahan dancing his way through a sunny Los Angeles, inviting those around him to join for an infectious over-the-top dance number.  Watch the full video on VEVO here.

In addition, fans will receive an instant download of brand-new track “Working Girl” with all album pre-orders.

About Train: Train is a multi-GRAMMY and Billboard award-winning band from San Francisco, CA that has had 13 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 list since the release of their debut self-titled album. Train's climb to the top began in San Francisco in 1994, as the original 5-member band tenaciously built a loyal following, leading up to their own self-titled debut album, released by Columbia in 1998.  The tumbling wordplay of "Meet Virginia" gave them their first unlikely radio hit and 2001’s Drops Of Jupiter broke them to multi-platinum status thanks to the double-GRAMMY award-winning title song that spent 10 months in the Top 40, and snaring the Best Rock Song GRAMMY award by beating out Coldplay and two U2 songs.  The group won another GRAMMY award in 2011 for their global hit “Hey Soul Sister,” the #1 best-selling smash and most downloaded single of 2010, from their multi-platinum album Save Me, San Francisco.  Next was 2012's California 37, which launched the hit "Drive By" reaching the Top 10 in 13 countries. They've sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, more than 30 million tracks, with multiple platinum/gold citations, including 3 GRAMMY awards, 2 Billboard Music Awards and dozens of other honors. In 2014 Bulletproof Picasso—the band’s 7th studio album—debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200 and earned rave reviews. Train's holiday album, Christmas in Tahoe, brings their signature sound to holiday classics as well as three original songs. Additionally, Train's award-winning Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. has recently released their 6th varietal, 'Bulletproof Picasso' sauvignon blanc. Proceeds from the wine support Family House, a San Francisco charity that supports families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
