The ten-song disc, the first to be released on Piper's own Sugar Daddy Records imprint, is a lively potpourri of sounds. "All the original songs on the album were written since I moved to the US about a year ago", states the Australian expatriate now residing in Cocoa, Florida. More Guitars Than Friends was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Solar Studio (using exclusively solar power) in Orlando, FL.

Wonder Woman: A 2015 UK Songwriting Contest Top 5 Song Finalist, is "where the bass guitar gets a chance to shine in this jump-blues break-up song", explains Piper. "I play the role of the heroine as I lament, 'I'm a wonder woman, I wonder what I saw in you".

Just A Little Bit: Originally recorded by Rosco Gordon, is "a high-energy blues standard with my own cheeky interpretation".

Buckle Bunny: "Catchy Texas-style blues about my cowboy fantasies".

More Guitars Than Friends: Title track, "is the most honest and sincere song I have ever written. I've had some awful experiences with musicians on the road. There have been many nights when I sat in my hotel room, all alone except for my bass guitar", reveals Piper.

Paper Bag: "A funny, sassy, soul anthem featuring Charlie de Chant (Hall and Oates) on saxophone. My favorite track on the album. Be sure to check out the music video!"

Cold Pizza And Warm Beer: "Cover of a song by Saffire! The Uppity Blues Women. I have been performing this song for so many years and have often been asked, 'what album is the cold pizza song on'? So I thought it was about time to record it".

Shotgun Wedding: "Tribute to my (adopted) home state of Florida, with the island feel to the music and a tale of courtship in the Deep South from days gone by. The song features my husband Jabba on the shotgun, also my band hooting, hollering, and yeehaw-ing".

I'm Lost Without You: "Cover of a song originally done by Memphis Slim. Another song I've been performing live for several years. I love the transition from the Latin feel to the Swing section".

Eugene: "A nod to the great Chuck Berry, about a cad in a cowboy hat".

Blackberry Brandy: "This song was written in a hotel room in Tennessee. You can't fake that sort of melancholy".

Anni Piper  - often referred to as "Australia's First Lady of the Blues" - blends deep, sexy vocals with a high-energy bass playing style (often barefoot), making for a thoroughly enjoyable live experience. Anni first started playing electric guitar at age twelve, but switched to bass two years later.  In 2004 Piper released Jailbait, which earned her "Best New Talent"at the 2005 Australian Blues Music Awards. Subsequent album releases include 2007's Texas Hold 'Em, 2009's Two's Company (which reached #1 on the Australian Roots music chart and #21 on the Living Blues chart), 2010's Chasin' Tail (released by Blues Leaf Records), and 2013's Split Second, a duet effort with Nicole Hart.
