I dig my rock and roll straight up - cool riffs, great vocals, and a solid tempo from the rhythm section.  Paralandra has delivered on all four of these bench marks with their recently released EP, All Fall Down.  Opening track "Alive" gets the rock rolling from the first note and doesn't let up through the verse and chorus and even tosses in a cool bridge to boot.  There was an instant inclination to draw comparisons between Paralandra and Grammy-winning rockers Halestorm, as the vocals are similar between the two.  "Heroes" unfolds with a different guitar sound, but has a great chugging riff that leads us into the verse.  The vocals add a little texture to the track, especially when the chorus comes in.  The drums are simple, but solidly anchor the track with assistance from the bass.  "Gravity" brings an emotional flavor to the disc with a cool ballad that blends a rock vibe with a mellower groove.  The song cruises along with solid vocals and layered instrumentation at the bridge that adds depth to the song and disc.  Title track "All Fall Down" is a little heavier on the bottom end than the other tracks, but the vocals again bring to mind and ears the voice of Lzzy Hale.  The strength of this song is the full sound and anthemic groove of the chorus.  This track draws you in with a Halestorm meets Evanescence vibe.  Closer "Fortunate Ones" brings a different guitar sound to the mix and a grittier and more guttural lead vocal that gives this a different texture than the other tracks on the EP.  While different, it doesn't detract from the other songs on the collection.  Again, if you dig Lzzy with a bit of Amy Lee thrown in with a solid rock foundation, grab this disc and check them out live.
