NEWS: CHEF’SPECIAL TO SUPPORT TWENTY ONE PILOTS ON NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
Fueled By Ramen/Atlantic Records group Chef’Special will return to North America this summer to support Twenty One Pilots on their headline “EMØTIØNAL RØADSHØW” tour. The coast-to-coast trek hits arenas and amphitheaters beginning May 31st at Cincinnati, OH’s U.S. Bank Arena and then traverses North America through a pair of sold out shows at New York City’s world famous Madison Square Garden, slated for August 10th and 11th. The acclaimed Netherlands-based band made their U.S. debut late last year with a new self-titled EP featuring the international hit single, “In Your Arms.” The Track, a 3x platinum certified smash in Chef’Special’s native country, is currently impacting Alternative and AAA radio outlets nationwide. The track is currently sitting at #33 on the Alternative / Modern Rock Songs Chart thanks to support from KTCL Denver and WLUM Milwaukee, while the companion music video for “In Your Arms” approaches half a million views. “Chef’Special” EP is available at all DSPs now http://smarturl.it/ChefSpecial.
Named 2015’s “Best Band” at Dutch Public Broadcasting’s NPO 3FM Awards, Chef’Special has fast earned a worldwide fan following with its tasty stew of sound, an adventurous and inventive recipe spiced by equal parts hip-hop, rock, pop, funk, and reggae. The Haarlem-based quintet made an immediate splash with 2011’s debut album, “ONE FOR THE MRS.” and its NVPI (Dutch Association of Producers and Importers of Image and Sound Carriers) gold certified hit single/video, “Birds” (www.youtube.com/watch?v=032PkXJlsCc).
Recorded in Brooklyn, 2014’s much-anticipated follow-up, “PASSING THOUGH,” arrived atop of the Dutch “Album Top 100” on its way to NVPI gold certification. In addition to the Top 40 success of “In Your Arms” – written in memory of lead vocalist Joshua Nolet’s late father – the album also highlighted the gold certified hit single, “On Shoulders,” streaming now at www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmQ3QXqxZMw.
Chef’Special has won over countless fans across Europe with its energetic and explosive live show, earning them 2014’s NPO 3FM Award for “Best Live Act.” The band is set to perform at this year’s 3FM Awards (March 28th) and will continue on the road with a series of headline dates and Dutch festival appearances through spring.
