Norwegian electronic music producer MATOMA has seen his groundbreaking album project ‘Hakuna Matoma’ earn a huge and fast-growing audience with 7 million monthly listeners at Spotify. A new kind of album format that expands and evolves over time by using the playlist format on streaming media platforms, the album was extended last year with the addition of ‘Running Out’ which features Astrid S (winner of Best Norwegian Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards). Already approaching 54 million plays at Spotify, ‘Running Out’ now receives a fresh boost with the launch of its official video HERE

Matoma’s punchy production and Astrid S’s dreamy vocal place a glacial chill on the normal summery house traits throughout ‘Running Out’. Its unconventional sonics are perfectly complemented by Icelandic director Helgi Jóhannsson’s video, which depicts a mysterious chain of events in a remote and wintry environment.

“When I met Astrid S she played me a guitar demo for this song and I was so inspired,” says Matoma. “Her voice and her emotion is just so incredible.”

Having recently played two huge sold-out homecoming shows at the Oslo Opera House, Matoma can now confirm details of his biggest North American tour to date, including forthcoming performances at this year’s Coachella  Music Festival with unannounced special guests you will not want to miss!

‘Hakuna Matoma’ demonstrates Matoma’s ability to blend traditional house music with modern elements of urban, dance, pop and Caribbean sounds to create a sun-drenched atmosphere with his music. Its highlights include guest appearances from Washington D.C.rapper Wale and Jamaican dancehall artist Popcaan on the feel-good ‘Feeling Right (Everything Is Nice)’;  ‘Try Me’, a collaboration with global superstars Jason Derulo and Jennifer Lopez; Matoma’s inspired reimagining of Coldplay’s ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’; and theHypeM #1 ‘Knives’.
