(New York, New York)  – Grammy Award winner Ray LaMontagne is set to take the stage at the South By Southwest Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake on March 17 at 8:00 PM CT in Austin, Texas.  Backing up Ray will be bassist Tom Blankenship, drummer Patrick Hallahan, guitarist Carl Broemel and keyboardist Bo Koster of My Morning Jacket. The show will give viewers a sneak peek into what the upcoming 2016 Ouroboros Summer Tour will be.

The show comes on the heels of the release of Ray’s 6th studio album Ouroboros.  The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Folk Albums Chart and Vinyl Chart and #2 on the Rock Albums chart. The album is receiving rave reviews with Entertainment Weekly giving the album an A-, garnering the #3 spot on People Magazine’s People Picks and receiving 4 out of 5 stars from American Songwriter.  Vulture stated the album is, “a 40-minute sonic kaleidoscope incorporating blues, jazz, folk, and psychedelia,” while NPR All Songs Considered stamped the album, “incredible.”  American Songwriter said, “the music pushes the soulful singer-songwriter outside any boundaries he has formerly operated in,” and Entertainment Weekly claimed, “Ouroboros is a perfect throwback to the lost art of the album-length format.”

Additionally, today, Jaunt Studios, the leading producer and publisher of fully-immersive cinematic virtual reality experiences, teamed up with Ray, to release a virtual reality (VR) music video experience for Ray’s first single “Hey, No Pressure” from his sixth studio album Ouroboros. Directed by Peter Martin, the experience offers fans a fresh way to enjoy Ray’s music in a jaw-dropping, fully-immersive visual experience.

Set to the song “Hey, No Pressure,” viewers are transported to a mesmerizing world with solo dancers moving to Ray’s music. Lavish visual effects and shapes create an exotic aura that blends into the song and provide a memorable visual backdrop. Filmed with Jaunt’s proprietary omnidirectional Jaunt ONE camera, the experience lets fans move beyond the traditional realm of music videos, giving a sense of presence.  The user is fully enveloped in a three-dimensional world comprised of Ray’s creative expression of sound and visuals.

"I have been both fascinated by and immensely curious about Virtual Reality technology,” says LaMontagne.  “ In both how content is created and in the question of what its many possible implication's on our culture might be over time. I was very honored when JAUNT approached me about creating a VR video for Hey, No Pressure. And I was blown away when I saw it for the first time.  It is interpretative, artistic, beautiful, expressive, and trippy as hell.”

On Thursday, fans who check out Ray’s set at SXSW will have the opportunity to experience the “Hey, No Pressure” VR content for free that same night at Jaunt’s booth, located inside the Lady Bird Lake venue.

The content is available exclusively via the Jaunt VR app and can be downloaded on Google Play, iTunes, and GearVR.
