Fans have come to expect a certain sound, style, and imagery through lyrics from Rob Zombie over the years and he delivers on all levels with his latest release, The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser.  Disc opener "The Last Of The Demons Defeated" starts things off on an eerie foot, but soon shifts to the killer Zombie sound when the drums, bass, and chugging guitars kick in.  Soon Rob's repetitive vocals join the fray and we are off and running.  "Satanic Cyanide! The Killer Rocks On!" opens with a cool guitar riff and some typical Zombie sound effects.  As the rhythm section works to keep the track anchored, RZ's vocals add grit to the songs smooth groove.  "Well, Everybody's Fucking In A U.F.O." is a funky-filled track that debuted as the first single and video from the disc.  The guitar from John 5 on this track contains the normal sound associated with a Rob Zombie track, but the playing seems deeper more purposeful with muscle behind the chugging riffs.  Second single "The Hideous Exhibitions Of A Dedicated Gore Whore" is another song that has a funky vibe underneath the rock groove, thanks to Piggy D's bass prowess.  The use of keyboards gives this a nostalgic sound that fits the lyrics regarding classic monsters and their human counterparts.  Recently released as the third single, "In The Age Of The Consecrated Vampire We All Get High" blends the current Zombie sound and incarnation with that of earlier tracks.  This song fits perfectly alongside anything from the Hellbilly Deluxe or Sinister Urge releases, and should blend well in the set list if performed live.  Keeping the groove in Zombie's past alive, "In The Bone Pile" is another track that could just as easily have been on one of his first two releases.  Ginger Fish's drums on this song are crisp and fit the mood of the tune perfectly.

A tribal rhythm from drummer Fish kicks off "The Life And Times Of A Teenage Rock God" while vocals blend with computer generated sounds on the verse.  Chugging guitars and heavy bass lines join the mix at the chorus, pumping up the feel of this track.  "A Hearse That Overturns With The Coffin Bursting Open" is a mood setting track that is more of an outlet for the softer side of John 5's playing than anything.  This beautiful piece lulls you into a false sense of security with it gentle sound and texture.  "Medication for The Melancholy" is a furiously paced ball of rock, pushed hard by the pounding and punishing bass lines, compliments of Piggy.  The guitars on this track take on different sounds and tones, but listen for them, as they aren't a main fixture in the mix.  "Super Doom Hex Gloom Part One" brings more computer generated sound effects to the disc, leaning more toward an eerie space groove than anything else.  "Get Your Boots On! That's The End Of Rock And Roll" is a fun-filled rock and roll ride - Zombie style.  With lyrics that dip into the history of rock as well as a groove that gets the foot tapping and head banging, Rob has brought together the vintage and the modern without deviating from the path he takes musically.  Disc closer "Wurdalak" is a heavy track that slows the tempo down and drones in the bottom registers - the vocals even take on a darker sound.  The piano interludes at the bridges and at the close of the track deliver a cool horror-like vibe, along with the creepy guitars and heavy bottom end.  I dug the last couple releases from Zombie and crew, but this disc is a return to form that prompted me to dig out his catalog and start spinning them now in anticipation of his summer tour.
