April 12, 2016 - (New York, NY) – Following the release of their latest single “Lay You Down Easy” feat. Sean Paul, global reggae-pop quarter MAGIC! earned the distinction of having the #1 most added single on Top 40 and Hot AC on Canadian Radio, scoring a #1 debut on Billboard’s Reggae Digital Songs chart and topping 2 million Spotify streams and 1 million views on Vevo in just over two weeks. The band aims to capitalize on this imminent success with their sophomore album ‘Primary Colors’, out July 1 on Latium/RCA Records /Sony Music Intl.

The globally successful single, an Apple Music Hot Track and Best of the Week dubbed “another summertime smash (Idolator)” and placed on “song of summer watch” by USA Today, sets the tone for the follow-up to the group’s top 10 debut album ‘Don’t Kill The Magic’. The band achieved a six week #1 Billboard Hot 100 streak for the album’s single “Rude”. For their second album, a collection of original songs written entirely by the band, they called on longtime collaborator and GRAMMY Award-winning producer Adam Messinger.

The group debuted music off the forthcoming album during a private showcase at a packed Hotel Café last week, drawing a crowd of lucky fans and industry insiders. MAGIC! also made their SXSW debut this past year, performing at showcases for Live Nation, the GRAMMYs and Perez Hilton among others.  Acclaimed for releasing tracks that are a combination of “punchy, compact and equipped with an irresistible hook (Billboard)”, the single plays well into the band’s overall catalogue.

MAGIC! is composed of Mark Pellizzer (guitar), Alex Tanas (drums), Ben Spivak (bass) and Grammy Award-winning songwriter/producer Nasri Atweh (Justin Bieber’s ‘My World 2.0’, Chris Brown ‘Graffiti’). The band made their mark with hit single “Rude”, released in 2014 before exploding into viral popularity. The track held the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for six weeks while simultaneously dominating the charts globally, hitting #1 in 41 countries. The track has been streamed over 500 million times on Spotify and the upbeat, quirky video for the single has seen nearly 1 billion Vevo views.

The past year saw the band earn two Juno awards for Breakthrough Group and Single of the Year for “Rude” and score multiple Billboard Award nominations on the strength of debut studio album ‘Don’t Kill The Magic’. They concluded an international, 30+ date tour opening for Maroon 5 and also performed at Hallow Festival and Rock in Rio.
