J.Views upcoming album 401 Days (out May 20) is the end result of the award-winning interactive website The DNA Project which invited fans to experience the step-by-step making of the album over the course of 401 days. The process gave fans access to every place, person and sound involved in J.Views’ creative process in real-time.
The album is a conceptual digital experience that peels back the curtain on the creative process and blurs the line between artist and listener, resulting in an intricately cohesive musical collection including the critically-acclaimed track "Don't Pull Away" ft Milosh which has seen upwards of 280K combined streams to date and is currently available as a free download via Majestic Casual.
“The process of the DNA Project, the live making of 401 Days had a profound affect on the music that was written,” explains J.Views. “I walked into this project with not a single written song, everything happened in real time, every line of lyrics, every fragment of thought that was posted on the site, every sound or a melodic idea. This ‘live’ process created a sense of healthy urgency; I was on the tip of my toes, sharing whatever was inspiring and real for me. This opened my heart, helped me simply communicate with people who care about my music, and helped me refine what really moves me.”
The open-hearted concept combines with creative propulsion and is made manifest in the trailblazing heartbeat controlled music video for #Almostforgot (ft. Kelli Scarr). In an exclusive with Mashable today, J.Views reveals details of the video experience - which is controlled by placing your finger over the smartphone camera lens. Using the heart as a metronome, the song's tempo and animated visuals will fluctuate in sync with your pulse. It was developed by multi-award-winning agency Hello Monday, the same team behind The DNA Project.
