Los Angeles, CA - April 13, 2016- Following the release of her second, self-titled album and songwriting debut, garnering praise for her “sweet, lightly smoky voice (USA Today)” that conveys the ability to “address life’s issues in practical language and tunes that have strong melodic hooks (The New York Times)”, Rita Wilson announced today that she will support iconic rock band Chicago for 10 dates on their Summer tour. The concert tour will span the West Coast, including a two-night run at Saratoga’s Mountain Winery.

The announcement comes on the heels of a successful residency at the renowned Café Carlyle in New York City and expands on Wilson’s already-announced dates at venues including the Nashville and Chicago locations of City Winery. The New York Times praised Wilson’s captivating live show, “[If you] closed your eyes at certain moments you could imagine you were cruising down a Southern California highway in the early 1970s. Sandwiched between the music of Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne on the car radio was a promising new voice whose sound fit right in with theirs.”

In Billboard Magazine's recent Hot 200 All-Time Top Artists, Chicago came in at #9, the highest charting American band. And the recent Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six consecutive decades. Their new documentary film, “Now More Than Ever: The History Of Chicago,” premiered at the Sedona International Film Festival in February, 2016, and won the Film Festival’s Best of Fest Audience Choice Award. Now in their 49th consecutive year of touring, they continue to be true ambassadors for their beloved hometown, carrying the city's name with pride and dignity around the world.

Wilson said of the upcoming shows, "I am beyond thrilled to be opening for Chicago, a band who has made up so much of my musical life. Whether I was listening to the band while skiing down a slope or driving in my car, I was always instantly transported to the joy of their melodies and songwriting. I cannot wait for these shows!"

The singer songwriter, actress, producer joins the tour on Sat., June 18 in Seattle, WA at Chateau Ste. Michelle. See tour dates including Rita Wilson below.
