New York, NY (May 23, 2016) --  Theatrically vivid and sonically intense, Brooklyn anomaly Not Blood Paint have debuted "Play Nice". Premiering exclusively with Purevolume, the spell-binding alt-rock tune "has the flair and confidence of a band that's been together for nearly a decade" and offers another taste of the group's next collection of shape-shifting narratives, Believing Is Believing, out June 17.

Musically, Not Blood Paint is far removed from any verse-chorus-verse structure and impossible to pigeonhole. The artistic prog-rockers are best understood live, where the majority of their catalog first comes to form, and have built up a cult following for their ritualistic, interactive and layered shows that require a healthy heaping of imagination to both produce and digest.

Consequence of Sound praises the band for thriving under "copious genre-bending and experimentation," and Time Out New York says"...head-turning Not Blood Paint plays a kind of ecstatic, progged-out glam rock."

New Yorkers can next catch the outfit at the iconic McKittrick Hotel (home of the sought-after Sleep No More adventure) on Thursday, June 2 @ 10pm. Performing a special set in the Manderley Bar, an ideal locale for a Not Blood Paint show, the show will mark the kick-off of a summer run of dates ending with an official album release party at Brooklyn's House of Yes on July 7. All confirmed dates below.

Formed in 2008, guitarists George Frye and Joe Stratton, bassist Mark Jaynes and drummer Seth Miller are five albums in -- and still evolving. The band's new record is the culmination, as they say, "of eight years working toward the marriage of our recorded songs with the exultant energy of our live show."

Finally, a band you can believe in.
