NEWS: ANDERSON EAST SETS NORTH AMERICAN FALL HEADLINE RUN
Low Country Sound/Elektra recording artist Anderson East has announced plans for a major fall tour presented by American Songwriter. The “Devil In Me Tour” gets underway September 27th in Ann Arbor, MI and then travels into late November (see attached itinerary). Support on all dates comes from Low Country Sound/Elektra artist Brent Cobb. For complete details and ticket information, please log on to the official Anderson East tour page.
Anderson East is currently in the midst of a wide-ranging summer schedule, highlighted by a North American tour supporting the Dixie Chicks, European dates, and international festival sets, including a recent appearance at Bonnaroo. The trek comes on the heels of a just-wrapped sold-out West Coast run as special guest to Chris Stapleton.
Anderson recently unveiled the video for “Devil In Me,” the latest single from his album Delilah. The video is available for streaming here, following its premiere on CMT.com.
Anderson East had already begun drawing applause and attention for his striking vocals and memorable songcraft when the Alabama-born troubadour caught the ear of legendary producer Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell) while performing at Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Café. The two soon set to work at the historic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL, home to the famed Muscle Shoals Sound. Released last year via Cobb’s Low Country Sound/Elektra imprint, Delilah received immediate critical acclaim, with Paste hailing it as “one of those 10-song records that’s damned near perfect, traveling through the old, smoky bars of older days and down the twisted back roads of love.” “(His) voice is full of gravely soul,” noted Rolling Stone Country, “easily tackling both piano ballads and foot-stompers, going head-to-head with a gospel chorus thanks to a killer range and often heartbreaking lyrics.” “From easy rolling ballads such as the sultry ‘What a Woman Wants to Hear’ to full blown Stax-styled horn-enhanced burners like the first single ‘Satisfy Me,’ (Anderson) East digs into this material with sweat soaked conviction,” declared American Songwriter in a four-out-of-five starred rave. “If there is any complaint, it’s that it’s over too soon, but that just whets our appetite for more.”
Anderson has long been known as an electrifying live performer, spending countless days on the road as both headliner and special guest to such like-minded artists as Sturgill Simpson, Brandi Carlile, The Lone Bellow, and Jason Isbell. In addition, Anderson has also made a number of high profile TV appearances supporting Delilah, including NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, CBS This Morning, and a recent installment of MTV Live/VH1 Classic’s Live From Daryl’s House.
Additionally, Anderson is among the modern country superstars collaborating with the GRAMMY® Award-nominated Cobb on Low Country Sound/Elektra’s extraordinary “SOUTHERN FAMILY” collection, joining an all-star cast that also includes Zac Brown, Shooter Jennings, Holly Williams, Jamey Johnson, and tour mate Brent Cobb, among others. The companion video for Anderson’s contribution, entitled “Learning,” is streaming now at the official Anderson East YouTube channel.
