LOS ANGELES, CA - Monday, July 25, 2016 - Pierce The Veil, one of the hottest breaking bands in the alternative/rock world today, will see its music video "Circles" exclusively premiered on MTV today, airing on AMTV, AMTV2, MTV Hits, MTV Live and mtvU beginning at 6:00AM ET. "Circles" will also be available via MTV's Snapchat Discovery channel as well as on VEVO http://vevo.ly/ogxJNy
The "Circles" video was directed by Drew Russ who directed Pierce's 2012 "King For A Day" video that has accumulated more than 70-million YouTube views. The video's concept is loosely based on the 1991 feature film "Nothing But Trouble" that was directed and written by Dan Aykroyd and starred Chevy Chase, John Candy and Aykroyd. PTV is on tour, on the road, their bus pulls up to their hotel for the night, and the second thoughts about this hotel start immediately. The hotel's bar serves drinks laced with snakes, bugs, eyeballs, and other animal parts, the hotel rooms are decorated in "crazy" - rooms full of mirrors. rooms full of rotting food, rooms full of skeletons and mystery stains. San Francisco morning radio host and former MTV VJ Matt Pinfield plays a featured role as an obsessed and very creepy old man.
"Circles," currently a Top 40 track at Alternative radio, a is taken from the band's long-awaited and critically-acclaimed new album Misadventures that debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Pierce The Veil, nominated for "Bandom of the Year," performed the track on last night's broadcast of MTV's Fandom Awards. The band recently completed the sold-out U.S. "Misadventures Tour" and just announced the "Made to Destroy Tour," presented by Journeys, a seven-week North American trek that kicks off on September 3. ABOUT PIERCE THE VEIL: Six years ago, Pierce the Veil - Vic Fuentes/rhythm guitar, vocals, Jaime Preciado/bass, Tony Perry/guitar, and Mike Fuentes/drums - was playing small clubs and side stages at Warped and other music festivals. With the 2012 release of their album Collide with the Sky, PTV exploded, selling out North American and UK headline tours in 2012, 2013, and 2014, and headlining 2015's Warped Main Stage. The band spent years actively developing relationships with its fans through meet'n'greets while on tour (numerous poignant stories told to the band by fans have found their way into PTV's songs) and extensive social media outreach, all of which has established the band's massive, passionate and fiercely loyal fan base. The band and its members have accumulated north of 5.5-million Facebook "likes," as well as 4.5 million Twitter and 4.7 million Instagram followers, and 200-million-plus YouTube plays (the "King for a Day" video alone is at more than 68-million views). Collide has been streamed more than 110 million times on Spotify, while the single "King for a Day" has been certified Gold and logged more than 27-million Spotify plays. The band has won multiple awards from Alternative Press, Revolver, Kerrang! and Rock Sound. PTV's new album,Misadventures, released May 13, debuted at #1 on its Rock, Hard Rock, Alternative and Independent charts and #4 on Billboard's Top 200 charts, and debuted in the Top 20 in the UK, Mexico, Australia and Canada.
