NEW YORK, NY - Electro-pop duo Odette/Odile are proud to premiere their single “Ceases To Beat” with All Access Music. “Ceases to Beat” is an uptempo power pop track about the inherent angst in a relationship. The lead single off Odette/Odile’s upcoming self-titled EP, it draws stylistic roots from the Japanese J-Pop scene, a key element of Odette/Odile’s sound.

Odette/Odile take their name from the 1981 TOEI Animation version of Swan Lake. Deriving much of their sound from Japanese culture and gaming, Odette/Odile were commissioned in 2010 to write the theme song for the Anime Boston Convention opening ceremony, resulting in “Hachimitsu,” Japanese for “Honey.” Comprising producer Keith, a game designer, and vocalist Ashley, a visual artist, Odette/Odile often design Anime-style comics and characters representing their music.

Passionate advocates of “nerd culture,” Odette/Odile seek to invoke “childhood nostalgia” for the comic-book loving, game-enthusiasts of the world, while still incorporating electronic pop sensibility in their writing. Be on the lookout for more out-of-the-box releases from Odette/Odile!
