The official video for "New Crush" was released last month and has garnered praise from fans and critics alike. TWIST Magazine says, "The singer's music video for her single, 'New Crush,' is just as fun as her catchy track", while POParazzi describes that "the video manages to perfectly meld Sonny's charming smile and personality with her beautiful vocals."

Co-written by Hot Chelle Rae's Nash Overstreet and RCA recording artist Kiana Brown, star of MTV's Scream, "New Crush" was produced in Los Angeles by Craig King (Kanye West, Ludacris), and perfectly showcases Sonny's girl-next-door-with-an-edge persona and flawless vocals. "'New Crush' is just a fun, honeymoon stage, butterflies, nothing can go wrong, kind of song", Mackenzi explains. "Basically when people listen to 'New Crush', I want them to have at least 3 minutes and 22 seconds of that innocent, magical, over-the-moon kind of happy, no matter what kind of day they're having." On September 9th, Mackenzi will be performing at the Salute to America and the Arts Celebrity Concert and Festival in Atlanta, GA. Hosted by Rick Baker of Callanwolde's Rick Baker School of Music and Music Recording, the concert will raise scholarship funds for veterans and students in need. The headliner will be R&B superstar, CeeLo Green.
