(September 26, 2016) – Pop sensation DAYA has announced her first-ever headline tour early next year ahead of the release of her highly-anticipated debut album SIT STILL, LOOK PRETTY which hits shelves October 7 on Artbeatz, marking a momentous step in her explosive breakout year.
Kicking off in her home state of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia’s iconic Trocadero Theatre on February 18, 2017, Daya will bring her dynamic live show to 25+ cities across the continent before it comes full circle to conclude March 30, 2017 in her hometown of Pittsburgh at Stage AE – the venue Daya frequented to see shows herself before playing her second-ever headlining show there earlier this year. The tour will hit other major cities such as Boston, New York City, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver and Seattle.
Pre-sale tickets will be available beginning September 27 at 10 a.m. local time and venue pre-sale tickets will be available for purchase beginning September 29 at 10 a.m. local time with the password “hideaway.” General tickets go on sale September 30 at 10 a.m. local time. VIP packages for the tour will also be available for purchase. Full details are available at http://www.theofficialdaya.com.
Having spent nearly day of 2016 touring, Daya’s show will include her smash hit & RIAA gold-certified single “Sit Still, Look Pretty,” her platinum debut song “Hide Away,” and other tracks off her forthcoming album.
“I’ve been waiting for my first headline tour ever since releasing ‘Hide Away’ last spring!! It’s going to be incredible. I’m so excited to design it from scratch with my team – all the lighting, production, merch, sound, and everything else that goes into a tour,” said Daya. “I’m definitely looking forward to bringing some new songs from the record to life for the first time. But most importantly, I’m pumped to share more pieces of my artistry with my fans who have supported me from the beginning and have an amazing time with them every night!”
The upcoming release of SIT STILL, LOOK PRETTY – which Entertainment Weekly and the New York Times have both called one of the most highly-anticipated albums of the fall – and forthcoming 2017 tour announcement caps off a banner breakout year for the 17-year-old Pittsburgh native. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and Executive Produced by Gino "Farrago" Barletta, Daya has cited the album as a continuation of her hit debut EP Daya, released in September 2015; the record will include the entire EP along with eight new tracks.
Leading up to the release, Daya has continued playing live shows across the country, including a set at the iHeartRadio Music Festival’s Daytime Village this past Saturday. She also recently performed on last week’s Dancing with the Stars, dazzling the ballroom twice with a performance of “Hide Away” and a special duet of “We Can’t Talk Anymore” with Charlie Puth.
